Many people going through a divorce or custody issue believe that mothers have more rights to the children than do fathers. This simply is not true; Nevada family law will award joint custody of the children unless it is not in the child’s best interests to do so. Tony Liker is an Attorney in Las Vegas , who has been representing the rights of Fathers for over 20 years. Although Tony Liker represents both fathers and mothers, he is very familiar with fathers’ rights issues. Attorney Tony Like is experienced in winning equal custody and equal rights for fathers who wish to be a part of their children’s lives. Father Rights: Attorney Tony Liker defending the parenting rights of men
Nevada recognizes the rights of a father as being equal to those of a mother. The Clark County Family Court is required to begin each and every case with a presumption that child custody should be joint. In other words, the Judge must start a case with the idea that parents will have joint custody and it is up to a parent to argue that joint custody is not a child’s best interests. In determining whether a father having joint custody is in a child’s best interests, the Court will consider factors such as:
- The nature of the relationship between father and child
- Whether the father has committed acts of domestic violence
- Whether the father is able to provide for their child
- The historical work schedule of the parties
- The historical custodial schedule that the father has had with the child
- Whether there is a history of one’s time with the child being stifled by the other parent
Under the Rivero decision, you must have at least forty percent of the time with your child to be designated as a joint physical custodian. Child support will be set accordingly. If you are involved in a child custody dispute then it is important that you contact an attorney immediately.
Attorney Tony Liker will fight, aggressively protecting the father rights. Once retained, will file any necessary Motions to establish your visitation and custody rights. Once the discovery process begins he will use all the available tools at his disposal to establish facts in support of a dad’s parental rights. One’s relationship with their children is too important to trust with a lesser experienced lawyer or a paralegal. Contact our office today for an initial consultation.
